The New York State Psychiatric Institute is located at 1051 Riverside Drive, between 165th and 169th Street. We also have locations at the Kolb Annex Building, located at 40 Haven Avenue and 168th Street. You may also enter through the Kolb Annex's Visitor Entrance to get to the Psychiatric Institute building via a connecting bridge through the lobby. Tel: 212-543-5000
! No visitor parking is available at the Institute.There is a parking garage on Ft. Washington Ave and 165th Street, (payment required) and potential curbside parking in the surrounding area.
! Visitors are reminded to bring a valid ID to gain entrance to the buiding via the security desk. Also, please have handy the name, and contact information of the person or division you are coming to visit.

Take the A, C, #1 subway to 168th Street, or take the M2, M3, M4, M5, or M100 bus to 168t Street. Follow 168th Street west to Haven Avenue and enter the Institute via the Kolb Research Laboratory Building. Fares at this time are $2.50 for both the subway and buses. Buses require metro cards or exact cash.
From NY Airports: Take the Grand Central Parkway to the Triboro Bridge to Manhattan. Take the Harlem River Drive (North). Get off on the Cross Bronx Expressway (West--toward the GW bridge lower level, but do not get on the GW bridge). Exit Right to the Henry Hudson Parkway/ 181st Street (last exit in Manhattan). Take Henry Hudson Parkway South. Get off on the 1st exit (on the left) Riverside Drive.
From New Jersey & Upstate NY: Take the George Washington Bridge (lower level): Stay to your left. Follow signs to the Henry Hudson Parkway (also called the West Side Highway). When you come down the exit ramp, at the traffic light, make a right onto Riverside Drive.
From New Jersey & Upstate NY: Take the George Washington Bridge (upper level): Stay to your right. Follow signs to the Henry Hudson Parkway (also called the West Side Highway). When you come down the exit ramp, bear to your right onto Riverside Drive. Go straight through the traffic light and the building is to your right.
From the East Bronx: Get on the Cross Bronx Expressway heading West (toward the GW bridge lower level). Follow signs to the Henry Hudson Parkway (181st Street, this is the last exit before the bridge's lower level). Bear left toward the Henry Hudson Parkway South. Roughly 300 yards later take one of the exits for Riverside Drive. At the stoplight, turn right onto Riverside Drive.
From the West Bronx: Take the Henry Hudson Parkway South. Go under the George Washington Bridge onto Riverside Drive.
From Brooklyn: Take the West Side Highway North to Riverside Drive (South Exit). Get off (make a right at the stop sign).
From Riverdale and Westchester via the Saw Mill River Parkway: Exit the Henry Hudson Parkway at the Riverside Drive exit immediately past the George Washington Bridge.
From Westchester, Connecticut, and the East Side of Manhattan via the Major Deegan, Cross-Bronx Expressway, or Harlem River Drive: Approaching the George Washington Bridge, take the Henry Hudson Parkway exit. On the approach on the Henry Hudson Parkway, stay to the left and follow signs to Riverside Drive.
From the West Side of Manhattan: Take the Henry Hudson Parkway to Exit 15 (Riverside Drive South)
